Professor of Management Dr. Issam Ghazzawi has received the Distinguished Research Award from the Institute for Global Business Research (IGBR) for his study on transformational leadership’s impact on employee engagement in the Greek hospitality and tourism sector.<\/p>\n

Co-authored with Dr. Konstantinos S. Skandalis of the University of the Aegean, the award-winning research highlights how transformational leadership styles can drive higher levels of engagement, commitment and performance among workers in Greece’s vital tourism industry.<\/p>\n

“We are tremendously honored to receive this prestigious award recognizing our efforts to advance understanding of the critical links between leadership approach and workforce engagement,” said Dr. Ghazzawi. “As the global hospitality sector continues recovering from pandemic disruptions, our findings underscore the importance of transformational leadership to engaging employees in an industry that experiences a high level of turnover.”<\/p>\n

The IGBR’s Distinguished Research Award celebrates academic excellence and the generation of insights with the potential to create meaningful societal impacts. As a leading forum for the development of business research, the Institute is dedicated to the betterment of society through the exchange of ideas.<\/p>\n

Dr. Ghazzawi’s award was formally presented at the IGBR’s 2024 Spring Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana.<\/p>\n
