Degree Programs

The University of La Verne offers students a choice between a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration.

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program is offered at the La Verne Campus only and provides students with a comprehensive education in business. Core courses establish a foundation of business, accounting, finance, business law, marketing, management, leadership, and economics.

Bachelor of Science Concentrations

Students in the BS program may select a concentration to customize their educational experience based on interests and career goals:

  • business finance
  • business management
  • human resources management
  • information technology
  • international business
  • marketing

The Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration program is offered in a session-based format, allowing adult learners the flexibility to complete their degree at their own pace while managing personal and professional responsibilities. Classes are offered online, hybrid, and in-person at the La Verne Campus and several of our regional campuses. The degree can also be completed fully online. Students in the BA program have the option to pursue one of the concentrations listed above.

The college also offers business administration as a minor, as well as business management, economics, or marketing to allow students to customize their education to suit their interests.

At the University of La Verne, our academic programs are led by professors who are experts in their fields. Our small class sizes lead to a more engaging classroom experience and a low student-to-faculty ratio allows faculty more time to get to know students and advise them on educational and career goals.

Hands-On Learning Opportunities

Students in the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program get a chance to test their skills in the real world of business through the Integrated Business Curriculum. This unique program challenges students to start their businesses from scratch using real money loaned from a bank. While taking courses together in finance, management, and marketing, the student teams work the entire semester to sell as many products as they can. They develop business plans and tackle real business problems, like supply chain issues, advertising, and balancing budgets. At the end of the semester, all profits are donated to local charities.

Business students at University of La Verne have many opportunities to network and learn more outside the classroom. These opportunities include organizations like Enactus, which implements entrepreneurial projects that empower communities; Delta Sigma Pi, a national business fraternity; and student clubs and organizations focusing on accounting, economics, marketing, finance, management, and more.

Beyond La Verne

Career advising is available to students and recent graduates through the college’s O’Brien Career Center. The center offers guidance to Leopards in search of meaningful and rewarding careers with career preparation resources.

Students who earn a bachelor’s degree in business administration at the University of La Verne and are looking to continue their studies can apply to our Master of Business Administration (MBA) program or might consider a specialization through one of our other graduate degrees in business.
