Exciting Updates to Our MBA Program

Single MBA Program: Beginning Fall 2024, we’re thrilled to present a unified MBA program, bidding farewell to the MBAX. This change allows for a more cohesive learning experience, ensuring all students receive the same high-quality education and maximizing student options. The unified MBA program is available part-time or full-time, with flexible options including online, synchronous, and in-person classes, to fit students’ preferences and life circumstances.

4+1 MBA for Undergraduate Students: Introducing our accelerated 4+1 MBA program for BSBA, BABA, and BS Econ undergraduates! Eligible students can start taking graduate MBA courses during their senior year, counting toward both their undergraduate and MBA degrees. This innovative program offers a fast-track to completion, allowing students to seamlessly transition from their bachelor’s to master’s studies.  This is our newest 4+1, joining our existing 4+1 programs for the Master of Science in Accounting, the Master of Science in Data Analytics, and the Master of Science in Leadership and Management. Undergraduate students in the 4+1 MBA program will benefit from the undergraduate tuition rate until they complete their bachelor’s degree. Financial aid, scholarships, and grants will be based on their undergraduate status, providing financial flexibility during this transitional period.

MBA students will continue to enjoy the unique benefits of a University of  La Verne business degree:

  • Class sizes of 25 or smaller: Small classes allow professors to provide individualized attention, to foster a participatory and interactive learning atmosphere, and where appropriate, to provide strong recommendations and references. Students are more likely to engage in discussions, ask questions, actively contribute to the learning process, and get to know their classmates in order to build lifelong relationships.
  • Dedicated College of Business Advising: In recognition of a generous gift from Dr. Rita Patel Thakur, the College of Business established the Dr. Rita Patel Thakur Academic Advising Center to provide academic advising to our undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students enrolled in programs at the La Verne Campus. Academic Advisors in the Center also work closely with the College of Business O’Brien Career Center to help students connect with career planning, interview preparation, resume support, and placement opportunities.
  • Lifelong access to the O’Brien Career Center: The Judge Edmond Emmett O’Brien and Muriel Faith O’Brien Career Center in the College of Business is dedicated to helping students and graduates in their search for meaningful and rewarding work. Career advisors equip students and alums with the resources and skills needed to advance through the career development process with confidence and professionalism.
